Who We Are
Borders Youth Local Action Group (YLAG) is a voluntary team of young people aged 15-30 who live, work or study in the Scottish Borders. The Borders Youth-LAG was set up in October 2022 to distribute “Community Led Local Decision Making” funds. Since then we have led and been the decision makers on multiple grants

Meet weekly online Monday and Thursday nights (mix of online and in person). Doing workshops, activities and delivering grants.

Part of the wider YLAG network across Scotland and Europe. Doing national advocacy and cross-culture connection trips.

Designing and delivering grants for young people.

Advocacy for young ppl (e.g. SBC closures of community services, LGBTQ etc)

Other Projects
Youth Facilities fund (with Scottish borders council)
May 2025 YLAG got to be the final decision makers on the uk government funding – youth facilities fund. Where they granted the 625k capital funds to 14 youth groups (list of group projects granted?)
Youth Border Awards
The ylag helped to present the YB LEAD awards (June 2025), using their presentation skills and advocate for youth voice – photos.
